H-1B News: USCIS Concludes Initial Registration Period for FY 2025 H-1B Cap Allocation

Updated: 3 hours ago

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced the fulfillment of the FY 2025 H-1B cap through the receipt of sufficient electronic registrations during the initial registration period. Following the completion of the random selection process, USCIS has notified all selected beneficiaries of their eligibility to file an H-1B cap-subject petition.

Registrants' online accounts will now display one of the following selection statuses:

  1. Submitted: Your registration has been successfully submitted and is valid.

  2. Selected: You have been chosen to apply for an H-1B visa.

  3. Not Selected: You have not been selected to apply for an H-1B visa at this time.

  4. Denied-Duplicate Registration: If you submit multiple registrations for the same employer, all your registrations will be considered invalid by USCIS.

  5. Invalidated-Failed Payment: Your registration was submitted, but the payment process failed.

  6. Deleted: Your submitted registration has been removed and was ineligible for selection.

  7. Processing Submission: USCIS is currently processing your registration, and it may take up to 72 hours for all case information to be updated.

As of April 1, H-1B cap petitions are open for filing. USCIS has confirmed that the filing period will extend for a minimum of 90 days. Employers and their potential employees are urged to submit their petitions promptly to mitigate any potential delays.
